Community Links

The Role of Parents:   Children make the most progress when parents are fully involved in their children’s learning and we actively encourage parental involvement. We aim to work in partnership with parents in the education of their children. It is important that children are happy and at ease with the education process. The more aware parents are of the work of the school, the easier it is to develop this.

We encourage community involvement through:

  • Regular open mornings/afternoons to celebrate children’s learning.

  • Invitations to assemblies, productions and presentations.

  • Opportunities for parents to learn alongside their children, eg. ICT training.

  • Supporting the school by: hearing readers, attendance on school visits, support with topic work etc.

  • Parent’s Forum, who meet regularly with the Student Council to discuss views and suggestions to promote learning.

  • Friends of Stephenson, which is a group of parents and friends of the school who regularly organise social and fundraising events, which supports educational visits and enrichment activities for our children.
